He doesn’t consider himself a Chopinist, listens to Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple to unwind and lost speech for an hour after he had learned that he had been qualified to the final of the 18th Chopin Competition. He finished the prestigious rivalry with the 4th prize and the special prize for the best performance of mazurkas. Jakub Kuszlik, the best Polish pianist of this year’s competition, will play at the Kraków Philharmonic. The repertoire? Chopin, of course!

Fryderyk Chopin:

  • Waltzes Op. 34: in A flat major, in A minor, in F major
  • Mazurkas Op. 30: in C minor, in B minor, in D flat major, in C sharp minor
  • Nocturne Op. 62 No. 2
  • Polonaise in F sharp minor Op. 44

***

  • Fantasia in F minor Op. 49
  • Sonata in B minor Op. 58
