The finale of the commemoration the 100th anniversary of the passing of Władysław Żeleński is celebrated by the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków with an evening filled with excellent works of this composer, piano and organ virtuoso, teacher and organiser of music life in Kraków. We will hear his overture In the Tatras, one of Żeleński’s best orchestral works, and his Piano Concerto which places him – together with Juliusz Zarębski and Ignacy Jan Paderewski – among the most talented and important figures of Polish pianism of the post-Chopin era (the 2nd half of the 19th century).
