The distance between Kraków and Zagreb: more or less 830 kilometres by car. The journey to Dubrovnik: approximately 1400 kilometres. Meanwhile, the Kraków Philharmonic needs only one concert evening to take us to the shores of the Adriatic Sea. On 9 October, the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra will be joined by Croatian pianist Mia Pećnik, laureate of more than 60 first and special prizes at various competitions all over the world, and her compatriot Mladen Tarbuk, the internationally acclaimed conductor who performs regularly at the North Rhine German Opera, as well as being an active composer, pedagogue, producer and director of the Summer Festival in Dubrovnik. The repertoire brings very Polish sounds with works by Chopin and Karłowicz, yet there is some space left for Croatian music represented by Blogoje Bersa's Idila.
