Là ci darem la mano – There we will join hands – the call from the hit duet of Don Giovanni and Zerlina was chosen as the motto of the Kraków Opera's first meeting with the audience after the long pandemic break. Thus, let’s join hands in this urge for direct presence!
At the beginning, like the hero of Don Giovanni, we will be seduced with the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The genius of music created over 700 pieces, including 13 operas during thirty-six years of his life. The Abduction from the Seraglio, The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte and The Magic Flute are nowadays, after 230 years from the composer’s death, considered masterpieces and still bring joy to the audience and satisfaction for the performers. Arias, duets and sextets from these operatic pieces will comprise the repertoire of the concert which will be held at the beautiful Botanical Garden, the oldest one in Poland.
Blooming magnolias, rhododendrons and azaleas will offer a perfect backdrop for the emotional confessions, reflections on the constancy and transitoriness of feelings, up to the final Gente, gente scene from The Marriage of Figaro when the lovers, after tumultuous adventures, are re-united. The lightness of Mozart’s music, the esprit of the scenes and plot combined with May atmosphere will put usin a truly spring frame of mind.
